Planes Of Fame Chino, CA,
B-17 Swamp Ghost on display at the Planes Of Fame Air Museum at
Chino, California. The Ghost was recovered in New Guinea in 2005, but
became stuck in customs when the New Guinea government decided that the
permit to allow the aircraft to be exported was issued illegally. The
government later allowed the Swamp Ghost to be exported after the
recovery team agreed to build a museum and donate a fiberglass replica
of a B-17 aircraft. The Ghost arrived in the United States in June, 2010,
and later went on display in an as-recovered state.
