Virginia Air & Space Center

B-24

This is the B-24D nose section on display at the Virginia Air & Space Center in Hampton, Virginia. This bird was delivered to the RAF, and then later transferred to the RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force). It was discovered at a farm in Alberta in 1972 by David Tallichet. The aircraft was badly damaged in transit when it was moved to Los Angeles. Only the nose section was saved from being scrapped. The nose was on display for a few years at March AFB, and then was moved to Hampton, VA, in 1991. The space center has built a mock-up of the rear of the aircraft, which houses a B-24 mission simulator.
