B-17G Flying Fortress
Imperial War Museum
Duxford, UK

B-17

The B-17G Sally B is based at the Imperial War Museum at the historic Duxford flying field complex. The Sally B flies regularly, and has been doing airshow demonstrations for over 30 years. She currently acts as the flagship for the American Air Museum, also located at Duxford. It is very expensive to keep a B-17 flying in England. Insurance along costs nearly $2000 per flight hour. If you get a chance to visit the Sally B, please turn out and show your support.

Note—this photo was provided by UK aviation fan Paul Field.
