B-29 Superfortress
New England Air Museum
Windsor Locks, CT

B-29

B-29 Jack’s Hack on display at the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. This aircraft is a true survivor. It rested for 15 years on the target range at the US Army Proving Grounds at Aberdeen, Maryland, then was hit by a tornado on October 3, 1979, then set another 20 years in the museum boneyard before the museum was able to restore the aircraft. The restoration was a partnership between the museum and the 58th Bomb Wing Association. The aircraft is now displayed in a purpose-built hangar as the centerpiece of the 58th Bomb Wing Memorial.
