Historic Bridge Weekend 2013

Day #2 — August 10, 2013

Sutliff Bridge, Lisbon, Iowa

The Sutliff Bridge was completed in April, 1898. It stood proudly, carrying traffic for 85 years, and people for another 25 years, until one span was destroyed in the 2008 flood. FEMA recognized the bridge as a key cultural attraction in Jackson County and decided to fund its rebuilding as part of disaster recovery. The restored bridge complete with a new eastern span opened in late 2012.
