Minnehaha Creek Private Driveway Crossing Minnetonka, MN
This driveway is a private entrance to a 3 acre estate known as Springdale
Farm. In speaking with the owner, the bridge was in place when he purchased
the property in 1985. The bridge likely dates to the 1960s. It was built
because the previous structure at this location was an impediment to
canoeists. The Springdale Farm Bridge is the only privately owned automobile
bridge to span the Minnehaha Creek. It is often described as the only
privately owned bridge over the creek, but there is a privately owned
footbridge located near France Avenue.

These two photos are views of the upstream west side of the Springdale Bridge.
The vantage point is an island located in the middle of the creek. The photo
above is a natural light photo. Given that the sun is in the east, this
side of the bridge is in a shadow. The photo below is a closer view of the
bridge span with a little more exposure to show the details that are in the
shadow seen above.
